HR 2143 EH
108th CONGRESS
1st Session
H. R. 2143
Definitions:
6) UNLAWFUL INTERNET GAMBLING - The term `unlawful Internet gambling' means to place, receive, or otherwise transmit a bet or wager by any means which involves the use, at least in part, of the Internet where such bet or wager is unlawful under any applicable Federal or State law in the State in which the bet or wager is initiated, received, or otherwise made.<<<<
Congress IS attempting to make internet gambling illegal. When/if this law passes the next step will be to implement penalties. As for making a bet over the internet, I foresee this as a likely punishment: …punishable by 1 year in the Federal Penitentiary and a fine not to exceed $50,000.
But the first objective is to stop the funding –by making internet gambling a federal crime. Then the feds will go after the bettors. Can’t beat the US Federal gov. boys. They are obsessed with writing laws… and even more obsessed with prosecuting “lawbreakers.”
